Country Rap Songs by Women: My First Step Into the Genre

I wanted to try something different. Something with more attitude, more room to play with the words, and a sound I hadn’t really explored in my own music yet.

That’s how my upcoming song, “Bad Idea,” became my first step into country rap.

If you’ve been looking for country rap songs by women, I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on. “Bad Idea” isn’t released yet, but it’s a direction I wanted to talk about—because I’m really happy with how this song turned out.

A Little Country, a Lot More Rap

When I started working on “Bad Idea,” I knew I wanted to do something different from what I had been doing. What surprised me was just how much I leaned into the rap.

This song has more rap than anything I’ve done before. To my ears, it even leans toward hip-hop in places, and I ended up really liking that about it.

I didn’t want to pull it back just because it was different for me. I wanted to see where I could take it.

There’s something fun about making a song that lets you deliver the words differently. You can put a little more bite into a line, play with the pacing, and let your attitude come through in the way you say something.

With “Bad Idea,” I got to explore more of that.

Trying Something I Hadn’t Done Before

Going in a different direction can feel a little strange at first. You know what you’ve been making, and then suddenly you’re working on something that sounds different enough to make you stop and think, Okay… can I do this?

But I wanted to try.

I still wanted the song to feel like me. I just wanted to give myself room to do more with the sound and delivery.

And honestly? I feel like it turned out really good.

That’s part of why I’m excited about this release. I tried something I hadn’t done at this level before, and I ended up wanting to do it again.

Where My Music Goes From Here

“Bad Idea” is my first country rap song, but I already know I want to produce more in the future.

I’m curious to see how far I can take this side of my music—especially that mix of country influence, hip-hop energy, and a more rap-heavy delivery.

It doesn’t mean every song I make from here will sound the same. I like having room to try different things. Sometimes I want to lean into the emotion of a song. Sometimes I want more bite. And sometimes I want to see what happens when I try something completely new for me.

This time, it led me to “Bad Idea.”

I’ve shared more about that freedom in why my music doesn’t stay in one genre.

“Bad Idea” Is Coming

I’ll share more about the release as it gets closer. For now, consider this a little introduction to another side of N!CØLE.
